Longtime Resident Makes Maple Syrup and Mentors Neighbor
Longtime resident Ken Cranson collects sap from one of the maple trees he tapped on North Row Road. Cranson and his family have been tapping dozens of maple trees around town every winter for decades and producing maple syrup. Cranson mentored his neighbor Kristen Hemenway, who is new to both sugaring and town, along her maple syrup making journey this season. It takes about 39 gallons of sap to boil down to one gallon of maple syrup. CREDIT: Danielle Ray
