Nearly two dozen Girl Scouts and their troop leaders gathered on May 23 behind Chocksett Elementary School for an outdoor, pandemic adapted International Event, a popular annual event for the scouts. The two troops represented two countries each – Canada, France, Ireland, and Norway – and each troop organized a craft and game highlighting their countries that everyone participated in. Sterling Boy Scouts gathered on May 16 for the annual Pinewood Derby at Lastella Field. Participants from different packs designed and created a pinewood vehicle, had it officially weighed in, and raced each other. The top honors went to: Ethan Tufts, 1st place, Karrna Krishana, 2nd, Lucas Hannah 3rd, and Noah Babyak, 4th. Jacob Mankus received a certificate for most patriotic vehicle, Ben Iarrobino for silliest, Landon Bourinot for best service/military vehicle, and Matt Harmon for best athletic themed.
