The library is open for all services Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside pickup/delivery is no longer offered at this time. Masks will continue to be required for all who enter the building as the library serves all ages.

The Return of the Adult Summer Reading Program: Adults ages 18 and older can visit the library to check out reading materials (adult books and audiobooks) and receive a raffle ticket. Program begins Monday, Aug. 2 and ends Tuesday, Aug. 31. Prizes, donated by the Friends of the Library and local businesses, will include gift certificates to local businesses and restaurants.

Cookbook Club: Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. sample dishes that our members choose from their own personal recipes. Each participant chooses a favorite dish, prepares the dish at home, and brings it with them to the library for an evening of good food, great conversation, and new recipes. Registration is required.

Parent’s Night Out Book Club: Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. on the lower level of the Conant Public Library in Sterling as we discuss Little Wonders by Kate Rorick. Little Wonders is a fun novel offering insight into the high-pressure world of being a super-mom, with playdates, school politics and social media gone wrong. Story Hour: Six week session, starting Sept. 13. Registration is required. Registration begins Monday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. Mondays Ages 2.5 to 7 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays: Ages 18 months to 3 years at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2.5 to 7 at 1:00 p.m. Thursdays: Drop-In – No registration is required. Ages birth to 18 months at 10:30 a.m. Older and younger siblings are welcome.
Drop-In Knitting Group: Tuesdays at 1:30 pm. All fiber arts crafters welcome.
Animal BINGO: The Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program continues with an afternoon of Animal BINGO! Children of all ages are invited to join us on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 1:30 pm for a fun afternoon of BINGO with an animal theme. Registration is required.

Masterpiece Monday: Drop in on Monday, Aug. 9 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to create a masterpiece. Supplies provided, just bring your creativity. Open for children of all ages, no registration required.
Last Day of the 100 Books of Summer Reading Challenge: Thursday, Aug 12 — Last day to finish the 100 Books of Summer Reading Challenge. Participants who complete the list will receive a prize. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Conant Public Library.

International Snack Box: Monday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Learn about the world through food. Children of all ages can pick up a snack box highlighting a surprise region during the library’s open hours beginning on Monday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. The box will include an international snack, a description and map of the featured region, as well as some facts and suggested reading material that can be found in the library. Supplies are limited. Only available while supplies last.

Board Game Afternoon: Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Enjoy the lazy days of summer playing board games with friends. Board games for patrons of all ages will be available in the Baker Room on Wednesday, Aug.18 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Stop in for some friendly competition with friends and family!
