The library is accepting donations from community members and businesses of new toys, craft kits, gift cards, games, and baby toys to be awarded as prizes in the Youth Summer Reading Program. Not sure what to donate? Monetary donations are welcomed as well, and staff will select fun prizes with the funds received. All donations may be dropped off at the library during open hours.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten – Embark on a reading journey! Children ages birth through pre-k and their caregivers are invited to participate in a self-paced reading program that is on-going throughout the year. The goal of the program is to encourage parent-child bonding through reading and to promote a love of reading in newborns, infants, and toddlers. Participants who register will receive a keepsake hardcover journal to track their reading and will receive milestone stickers for every 100 books logged. Registration is required, call the library to register. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Conant Public Library.

Socially distant outdoor storytime. Children ages birth to seven years old and their caregivers are invited to attend storytime at Sterling’s Memorial Park (behind the fire station) on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. through June 16. No registration is required, siblings are welcome. Program is held weather permitting. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket and call the library for more information or if the weather is questionable.
Virtual LEGO Club, June 10, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children ages five and up can build together, share creations, or try a LEGO challenge card during the Zoom meeting. Registration is required, call the library to register.
Sing-along camp songs, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. on the lawn next to the library. Gather around for camp songs! Children ages 5 and under, with their caregiver, are invited to join us for lively sing-along camp songs. Rain date of June 17 at 10:00 a.m. Registration is required and space is limited, call the library to register.
Animal Adventures Meet & Greet, June 24, 10:30 a.m., Memorial Park (behind the fire station). Take a walk on the wild side with Animal Adventures! Join us in kicking-off the annual youth summer reading program with a meet and greet with Animal Adventures. Attendees of all ages will get to learn about exotic animals and meet LIVE animal guests. Rain date June 28 10:30 am., no registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Conant Public Library.
Cookbook Club, June 30, 6:30 p.m., in person on the library side lawn. The Well Plated Cookbook by Erin Clarke. Prepare your dish at home then bring it to share while enjoying good food and great conversation. Cookbooks are available at the library for curbside pickup. Registration is required, call the library to register.
Parent’s Night Out Book Club – July date and book TBD, in person on the library side lawn weather permitting; Zoom link will be sent out in the case of inclement weather.
