Drop in with a blanket and your mask for a socially distant outdoor story time. Children ages birth to seven years old and their caregivers are invited to join us for story time at Sterling’s Memorial Park (behind the fire station) on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m., now through June 16. No registration is required, siblings are welcome. Program is held weather permitting. Participants are encouraged to call the library for more information or if the weather is questionable. Masks required for ages two and up.

Children of all ages (birth through grade 12) can request a kit to make their own jigsaw puzzle starting on May 10 at 10 am. Call the library to request a kit and set up a curbside pickup on or after May 10.

Beginning on May 17 at 10 a.m. international snack boxes will be available for children of all ages. Learn about the world through food! Children are invited to participate in this requestable snack box program highlighting a surprise region. The box will include an international snack, a description and map of the featured region, as well as some facts and suggested additional reading material that can be found in the library. Participants can pick up their international snack box through curbside pickup. Supplies are limited, call the library to request a box.

Children’s Songs & Singing Games: A Virtual Concert with Roger Tincknell, May 20, 6 to 7 p.m. Sing-along with Roger Tincknell in a lively and entertaining virtual concert. Roger will encourage children to sing, dance, imitate animals, and learn songs in other languages through call and response all from the comfort of your home. Viewers will get to explore other cultures through traditional and contemporary children’s songs and play from around the world. This program also includes sing-alongs performed on guitar, banjo and other instruments. The link to the pre-recorded concert will be shared on the library website and Facebook page, no registration is required.

Virtual LEGO Club, May 13, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children ages five and up can build together, share creations, or try a LEGO challenge card during the virtual meeting. Registration is required, call the library to register.

Virtual Jeopardy for Teens, May 26, 4 to 5 p.m. Youth in grades six and up are invited to take on trivia and participate in a Jeopardy program for teens via Zoom. Participants can register to play individually or as a team. Registration is required, call the library to register.

Virtual Cookbook Club, May 26, 7 p.m., “The Complete Summer Cookbook: Beat the Heat with 500 Recipes That Make the Most of Summer’s Bounty” from America’s Test Kitchen. Prepare your dish at home before the Zoom meeting and discuss what you have made as we enjoy good food and great conversation virtually. Cookbooks are available at the library for curbside pickup. Registration is required, call the library to register.

Virtual Parent’s Night Out Book Club, June 7, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. “Maybe You Should Talk to Someone” by Lori Gottlieb.
